In this course - Introduction to Somatic Mindfulness and Movement in Couples Therapy - we will explore how to slow down and create space for the non-verbal expression that shows up so powerfully both interpersonally and intrapersonally during couples therapy.

Course Overview

We seek out the fulfillment of core needs in our relationships and often we use pretty dysfunctional words and behavior to communicate that we’re not getting what we need. Somatic mindfulness and movement are powerful opportunities that we can give our clients to express themselves and their deepest emotions around their core needs. These forms of awareness offer a deep perspective that often cannot be attained by talk alone. In this class we will explore how these tools help bypass the filters that our clients often use when expressing themselves, allowing for more authentic and vulnerable engagement.
