I made Aliya in 1986 with my husband and three children and an MS in computer science. In the US, I had worked part-time in computers, which I loved, but in Haifa I stayed at home with my children until we felt settled. Eventually, I realized that the things I was doing that added meaning to my life - volunteering at the National Hotline against Family Violence, working as a childbirth educator and as the first doula in Haifa (as far as I know) - were things I could do professionally as a social worker, so I went back to school for an MSW. After receiving my MSW, I studied and practice Family Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Both of these therapies are generally short term, goal oriented and evidence-based.
I feel enriched by each individual/couple/family I meet. I love helping couples/individuals improve their relationships and their parenting skills. I also love showing individuals how to improve their mood by changing the way they think. I love teaching communication skills workshops which help participants improve all their relationships as well as becoming more effective at their jobs. Good communication skills are a super power! In a nutshell, I love being involved with people who are interested in promoting their emotional growth.
I have experience treating individuals, couples, families, teens and children. I work collaboratively. I accept people with an open mind and heart, non-judgmentally. None of us are perfect; we all have challenges. Change is rarely easy. There are good reasons for being the way we are. Appreciating these reasons helps us achieve our goals. If you want to make a change in your life and you need some help in achieving your goals, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am looking forward to hearing from you! I can be flexible with my fee so that new Olim and students can afford the therapy they need.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on how one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and can be changed. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition) and how we feel (emotion) can influence how we behave. CBT helps people identify and challenge distorted thinking and replace it with more balanced thinking, leading to improved mood and behavior. ‘Homework’, usually containing practical writing exercises, is often completed by the client between sessions to reinforce the therapy. Examples of tools that practitioners often use are journaling, challenging beliefs, and mindfulness.
Family Systems TherapyFamily Systems Therapy is an approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes the importance of understanding how the family functions as a whole, and how individual family members interact and affect one another. It focuses on how family dynamics, such as communication patterns, roles, and power dynamics, shape behavior, and how changing these dynamics can lead to positive change. Family Systems Therapy is a collaborative approach, where the therapist works with the family as a whole to identify and address areas of conflict and distress.
Guided ImageryGuided imagery is a form of visualization used for relaxation and healing. It uses the power of the imagination to create positive changes in a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is also used to reduce stress and anxiety, cope with physical and emotional pain, increase motivation, confidence, and self-esteem, and to improve focus and concentration. During a guided imagery session, the practitioner will guide the client through a series of visualizations, using words and descriptions to help them create mental images in their mind. These visualizations can take many forms, such as a comforting place from the past or the client’s future goals.
