Hi, nice to meet you. My name is Eleora and I'm a Clinical Social Worker and Cognitive Behavioral Therapist practicing in Haifa. For a decade I worked in both outpatient and inpatient programs and a Mental Health Facility in northern Israel in open and closed wards encouraging and helping people coping with mental disabilities to better integrate into society. I have additional experience with the general population at Meuhedet Health Care, War Veterans, and Geriatric Patients at a rehabilitation hospital.
For the past five years I have been using my skills and knowledge as a CBT psychotherapist to treat students, adults of all ages and backgrounds, and holocaust survivors. I offer in person sessions, home visits for the elderly, and utilize both the on-line and teletherapy platforms to create a continuous, convenient and flexible therapeutic environment in both English and Hebrew.
I incorporate mindfulness, guided imagery, chair work, muscle relaxation, grounding and breathing techniques. Moreover, these tools deepen the innate connection between mind, body and soul and restore a feeling of security, understanding, connection and calm.
Additionally, I uphold the approach that every person has something to gain from the therapeutic relationship and deepening their understanding of themselves. Some people turn to therapy in order to realize and build on their potential and not due to a certain crisis. In either case, therapy is a joint process where the patient and the therapist come together to improve the patient's quality of life, create meaning, and lessen one's symptoms while still being in close touch with their feelings and emotions. My style is gentle yet proactive and I make a conscious effort to adapt the pace and tailor the therapy to my patients needs, wants and sensitivities. Together we will find what can motivate you towards growth and connect you to your values. Sometimes just casting light on and not being alone with pain, suffering, hopelessness or distress can make a transition and facilitate healthier and more effective coping modes, thoughts and self care.
I treat a wide variety of emotional difficulties including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks and panic disorder, health anxiety, OCD, Relationship OCD, grief, emotional regulation, life's turning points, changes and adjustments. I help people who worry a lot, ruminate, have obsessive or intrusive thoughts and need stress management to diminish these disruptions and get back to functioning.
I value your decision to make time and place for yourself in your weekly schedule and realize that it is a brave decision to open up to someone who is unfamiliar to you. I believe in getting to know you, building an alliance that is based on trust, validation, caring, openness, warmth and respect, in an empathetic and non judgmental environment. Alongside these healing aspects of therapy, we will endeavor to recognize your strengths and resources in order to create a lasting improvement. I'm looking forward to working together.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on how one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and can be changed. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition) and how we feel (emotion) can influence how we behave. CBT helps people identify and challenge distorted thinking and replace it with more balanced thinking, leading to improved mood and behavior. ‘Homework’, usually containing practical writing exercises, is often completed by the client between sessions to reinforce the therapy. Examples of tools that practitioners often use are journaling, challenging beliefs, and mindfulness.
Schema TherapySand tray therapy allows a person to construct their own microcosm using miniature toys and colored sand. The scene created acts as a reflection of the person’s own life and allows them the opportunity to resolve conflicts, remove obstacles, and gain acceptance of self. Schema therapy is based on the belief that early maladaptive schemas form when emotional needs such as affection, guidance, love, shelter, and safety, go unmet in childhood. These maladaptive schemas, which can be described as ways that individuals interpret life events, can later lead to them making unhealthy choices, forming toxic relationships, lacking healthy boundaries or social skills, engaging in destructive behavior patterns, having a poor sense of judgment, and experiencing feelings of worthlessness or self-doubt. Discovering the origins of one’s unmet emotional needs and learning to create nurturing relationships through schema therapy can help people begin to build feelings of trust, self-worth and adequacy.
