ABOUT

I made aliyah from Teaneck, NJ with my husband and 5 children in 2009. I have a Masters in Social work and am a certified CBT therapist with a private practice in Ramat Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem. In America, I worked as a School Therapist, Residence Manager for a home for disabled women, Respite Coordinator and Family Therapist. Therapy is a brave step, and I will work together with you to help change your life and achieve your goals. I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which enables one to reach their goals and change their lives in a timely fashion by working on changing their thoughts and behaviors. From small scale circumstances, to traumatic experiences- my services are personalized to suit everyone’s needs. I am able to provide therapy via Skype all over the world, in keeping up with the trend of online therapy. You don't need to leave your home and waste travel time. All the benefits of therapy without leaving your house. I also provide email therapy, an up and coming mode of therapy for those who prefer to get their thoughts down in writing and prefer that to face to face conversation. It's also a great alternative for those who have trouble keeping timed appointments, or are just too busy. I work with teens through adults, and have a special sensitivity towards those spending their gap year abroad. “Change your thoughts and you change your world.” –Norman Vincent Peale

TREATMENT APPROACH

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on how one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and can be changed. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition) and how we feel (emotion) can influence how we behave. CBT helps people identify and challenge distorted thinking and replace it with more balanced thinking, leading to improved mood and behavior. ‘Homework’, usually containing practical writing exercises, is often completed by the client between sessions to reinforce the therapy. Examples of tools that practitioners often use are journaling, challenging beliefs, and mindfulness.
