I am a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive clinical and research experience in both Israel and the United States. I provide psychiatric care to adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges. In my Tel Aviv-based and online (telepsychiatry) practice, I offer evidence-based treatment grounded in a compassionate, individualized approach tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.
In my practice, I focus on the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD and complex PTSD), bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.
In addition, I specialize in treating substance use disorders and behavioral addictions—including alcohol, cannabis, stimulants, and other substances, as well as gambling, sex addiction, and technolgical addictions. My approach to addiction is integrative and nonjudgmental, informed by clinical practice as well as years of academic research into the etiology and treatment of addiction. For individuals struggling with addiction, I offer customized ambulatory (at home) recovery plans, often developed in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, peer mentors / recovery sponsors, and family therapists.
Alongside my clinical work, I am a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University and a senior addiction researcher at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in substance use epidemiology at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and have authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications on addiction, mental health, and related public health issues. My work has been supported by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and published in top-tier journals, including The American Journal of Psychiatry and JAMA.
I earned my medical degree (MD) from Tel Aviv University and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from Harvard University. I completed psychiatry residencies at Lev Hasharon Mental Health Center in Israel and at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. In addition, I have received advanced clinical training in psychopharmacology, behavioral therapies for addiction, and gender psychiatry through leading professional organizations in both the U.S. and Israel.
My approach to care is evidence-based, integrative, and person-centered. I strive to build a respectful, collaborative therapeutic relationship with each patient, combining medical expertise with genuine attention to individual needs and preferences. I work in both Hebrew and English (bilingual) and offer flexible scheduling, including remote care.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on how one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and can be changed. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition) and how we feel (emotion) can influence how we behave. CBT helps people identify and challenge distorted thinking and replace it with more balanced thinking, leading to improved mood and behavior. ‘Homework’, usually containing practical writing exercises, is often completed by the client between sessions to reinforce the therapy. Examples of tools that practitioners often use are journaling, challenging beliefs, and mindfulness.
