Although it can be a great relief to finally get a diagnosis, labelling can be an obstacle to understanding, especially with children, and I have seen this with Eating disorders, OCD, ADHD, Aspergers/Autism, etc, among the various 'Diagnosis' that have been referred to me. There are varied complexities in family dynamics and in the development of any individual that we need to unravel and make sense of. Amongst these complexities we can often identify trauma. I believe that there is no better model for understanding than the Psycho-analytical model. I have supervised many different disciplines (Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Family Therapists and Art Therapists) and helped train many Trauma Therapists and repeatedly I see how they are limited by not having access to these concepts. I also, passionately believe that so many people are, and have been, suffering unnecessarily for so many years when they can be helped so quickly and powerfully with the additional input of Somatic Experiencing, which aims to release and discharge traumatic memories that are stored, and stuck, in the body. Fears, anxieties and symptoms endlessly repeat and are re-triggered depriving people of the richness and happiness of lives and relationships. We see this with recurring bouts of depression which can be so crippling. From the very first session the client will take away tools to be able to calm and begin to heal themselves. Of course the younger the person and earlier the intervention the quicker their lives can change for the better. I have over 40 years experience of working with all ages and all kinds of problems, with children, young people as well as adults, parents, couples, families, having also trained in Family Therapy and run workshops. I have also consulted to Schools and Nurseries throughout my career and was a Supervisor for the British Association of Psychotherapy for many students whilst doing their Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. The challenges of life are great and the burden can sometimes be too much for any of us to bear alone. I have just moved to Arnona, Jerusalem, and work in English, from home, in a peaceful and private setting.

PsychoanalysisPsychoanalysis is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on unconscious processes and is used to treat mental health conditions. It is based on the belief that unconscious conflicts are the root of psychological issues. It seeks to understand an individual's psychological experience, including thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, in order to identify patterns, uncover underlying conflicts, and gain insight into how these conflicts may be impacting the individual's life. Psychoanalysis is based on the idea that unconscious processes and experiences can affect behavior, mood, and relationships. The goal of psychoanalysis is to help the individual gain insight into these unconscious processes. Psychoanalysis suggests that the client’s symptoms can be reduced by bringing these conflicts into conscious awareness.
