ABOUT

"Trauma creates change you don't choose. Healing is about creating change you DO choose." -Michelle Rosenthal

Alumah is for women who are already in individual therapy but need more - more trauma processing, more skills for emotional regulation, more community. We provide a supportive, trauma-sensitive program as an adjunct to individual therapy, for women diagnosed with Complex PTSD or other trauma-related diagnoses, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

Alumah includes DBT, Expressive Arts Therapy and Trauma Sensitive Yoga groups, as well as biweekly individual meetings with the clinical director. The staff collaborates with one another as a team, as well as maintaining contact with clients' individual therapists in order to provide the most integrated and helpful care possible. All groups take place during evening hours or on Fridays, so women are able to attend Alumah while working, studying, or caring for their families.
